"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate."

About Shadow Work

The shadow is that part of ourselves that we would rather not see.

Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung described the shadow as everything in us that we once put away because we thought it was not desirable or safe to show.

They are often aspects we are ashamed of; our fears, our anger, our desires - but also our strength, passion and zest for life. Parts we have rejected, not because they are wrong, but because we believed we were not allowed to be them.

Although we like to keep these parts hidden, they do influence how we think, feel and interact with others - often without us noticing. And precisely because we don't give them space, they often work through unconsciously - through triggers, projections or automatic patterns.

Suppressing the shadow takes a tremendous amount of energy. Energy that you can also release and use - to become more whole, feel freer and live a more fulfilling life.

THE SHADOW WORK SERIES - The role within the Full Range method.

Personal growth is often about improving one area of life - work, relationships, health or spirituality. In my method, we look more broadly: at the Full Range Human. We explore where you are not yet free, what patterns limit you and what wants to be seen or broken, so you can live a full, fulfilled and authentic life.

The Shadow Work Series is about expression, honesty and daring to be visible. This is the work you can do not just on a meditation cushion, but in contact, reflection and experience. Here you meet and integrate your shadow so you can live with more freedom, power and authenticity.

The next step

You have already done a lot of inner work: read books, practiced meditation, breath work or perhaps even experienced deep ceremony work. You've probably gained valuable insights, peeled off layers and taken beautiful steps.

Yet the truth is this: alone - in isolation - you only get to a certain point. Our deepest wounds once originated in relationship, and it is precisely in connection with the other that they can truly heal.

In this Shadow Work Series, we create exactly that space; a safe bed in which you are invited to explore and really show yourself beyond roles and masks.

Here you meet not only the other, but also yourself - in all that you are. You experience how liberating it is to be allowed to be yourself completely. Even that which you prefer to keep hidden. Exactly there - in being received with all that is and all that you carry with you - is a deep source of life force, connection and liberation.

FOR WHO

The Shadow Work Series is for those curious about the richness of inner work in a group setting. They can be confrontational - but also offer plenty of room for gentleness, connection and surprising insights.

Each workshop starts with a theoretical part and then a (longer) part with exercises and circle work to become aware of and work with the shadow. You do not need any experience to participate.

Well; an open mind and willingness to really meet yourself and each other.

Janneke & Mewis

THE SHADOW WORK SERIES is an initiative of Janneke (life coach, breath coach, bodyworker, group work facilitator) and Mewis (process facilitator, breath coach, de-armouring practitioner, Wim Hof instructor, systemic worker).

In their practice "the Essence," they create a place where they can share their passion and wisdom. They both walk the path of self-exploration and awareness, conducting sessions, workshops and programs both together and individually.

Janneke & Mewis both have a great love and fascination for conscious relating, individual trajectories and group work. They live with 3 children in a composite family by the dunes in The Hague.

The ultimate freedom of being yourself

What if you felt the freedom to say what you really feel?

Would you have the courage to show your vulnerability?

To share your deepest desires, without restraint?

What if you felt the desire to show your greatness -.

without fear of being too much, too intense, too different?

...would have the confidence to communicate your boundaries,

would feel the space to be completely yourself?

That is the invitation of the shadow: to allow everything you once put away back into the light.

When you stop hiding, life begins to flow again.

Then control shifts to trust, charge to relaxation, and survival to zest for life.
